Festivalflorio, la rassegna d’Arte di maggior rilievo dell’Estate Siciliana che, sempre sotto la direzione artistica di Giuseppe Scorzelli, si svolgerà dal 14 al 21 giugno 2020. Un calendario ricco di proposte, in prevalenza musicali, che non mancherà di soddisfare molteplici interessi culturali e che si rivolge quest’anno sotto il segno del gemellaggio italo-tedesco. Il festival è realizzato in collaborazione con l’AMP, l’ente che gestisce e tutela l’Area Marina Protetta delle Isole Egadi e che, con un’estensione di 53.992 ettari, è la riserva marina più grande del Mediterraneo.

Il 22 aprile 2020 le Nazioni Unite celebreranno il 50° Anniversario della Giornata Mondiale della Terra (Earth Day), l’evento di sensibilizzazione alla tutela del Pianeta più impattante al mondo con miliardi di persone coinvolte ogni anno attraverso l’opera di 75.000 partner in 193 Paesi. All’Italia il compito di aprire le celebrazioni Mondiali dedicandole a Papa Francesco nel 5° Anniversario della sua lettera Enciclica Laudato si’ che tanto ha contribuito a generare una consapevolezza mondiale sul Cambiamento Climatico alla vigilia dello storico Accordo sul Clima di Parigi (2015).

L’evento, a cui parteciperanno più di 300 giovani selezionati da tutta Europa, si svolgerà dal 30 aprile al 10 maggio 2020 nella città di Milano. Il tema della Sessione sarà “Sostenibilità circolare: ripensare il presente, dare forma al futuro”, che coinvolgerà giovani attivisti in una vera e propria simulazione della procedura legislativa del Parlamento Europeo, con tanto di lavori di commissione e assemblea plenaria.

Il 10 aprile in Piazza del Duomo di Milano – Milan Cathedral si terrà il grande evento lancio, con la messa in scena nel luogo simbolo della città dei cento globi terrestri artistici, realizzati e interpretati ciascuno da creativi e designer. Cento mondi e cento visioni sostenibili per Milano che nei giorni successivi dal 12 aprile sino al 21 giugno 2020 saranno collocati in cento diversi punti della città, dando vita alla più grande mostra open air sulla difesa dell’ambiente mai realizzata nel Comune di Milano.

Grazie all’appello del Santo Padre rivolto ai giovani “che si stanno formando e stanno iniziando a studiare e praticare” l’Economia, invitandoli a prendere parte all’evento The Economy of Francesco, 2.500 studenti da tutto il mondo saranno ad Assisi. Il 21 novembre 2020 Papa Francesco sarà in Umbria per incontrare i ragazzi che, già qualche giorno prima, prenderanno parte a laboratori, dialoghi e approfondimenti sull’economia. Una “ri-animazione” intesa sia come necessità di risollevare e dare nuovo slancio a un sistema economico divenuto insostenibile, sia come restituzione di un’anima a un’economia che non tiene conto di tutte le dimensioni dell’essere umano.

Giovedì 20 febbraio 2020, il maestro Beppe Vessicchio con la sua orchestra, ha dato il via a Milano all’iniziativa “NO PLASTIC CHALLENGE” che mira a ‘educare’ esercenti e consumatori a una progressiva riduzione dell’utilizzo delle materie plastiche monouso. Gli esercizi commerciali aderenti all’iniziativa, che risulteranno più virtuosi avendo raggiunto il punteggio più alto, riceveranno il diploma di ‘attività ecosostenibile’.
